Last month, I wrote a post on how to find your perfect foundation shade and in that post I talked about how I had made a hasty decision when I was buying my most recent foundation. Well , today I'm going to be giving a full review on the foundation in question.
The LA girl pro coverage high definition long wearing illuminating foundation (quite a mouthful) claims to be ideal for a flawless looking full coverage finish. It also boasts of a lightweight formula that is comfortable for all day wear. The paraben free formula with added anti-oxidants helps hydrate and improve the skin's appearance. Does it live up to these claims however? Let's find out.
First things first , the packaging. It comes in a sleek transparent bottle and it comes with a pump attached and that's already an added bonus in my books because it helps to reduce wastage of product. It contains 26ml of foundation which may be a little less than the usual 30ml foundation bottle that most brands have.
This foundation gives a medium to full coverage so yes , they weren't bluffing about the coverage. It does not dry matte , it stays dewy and that gives such a beautiful natural glow. I absolutely love the finish of this foundation. I have normal skin so I don't mind the dewy look but if you have oily or combination skin then this might not be ideal for you but you can still make it work. That's what primers , setting sprays and blotting sheets are for. It does have a smell which you may or may not mind , I don't mind the smell. I'm yet to see a foundation that smells nice.
I wanted to test its longevity so I did my makeup on Sunday around 7am and by 9/10pm I was only a tad bit oily. Let's not forget that I don't have oily skin, so it may be different for my oily skin babes.
Finally, the price. It is extremely affordable. I got mine for about 3,500 at a makeup store in my city. That price coupled with the awesomeness of this foundation gives it my stamp of approval. I really love this foundation but the only problem I have is that I didn't get the right shade but I cannot just waste a perfectly good bottle of foundation. I have found a way to make it work for me. Please don't make the silly mistake I did , make sure you read my post on how to get the right foundation shade because you'll be glad you did.
In all, I would highly recommend this foundation if you have normal or dry skin but if you have oily or combination skin and you still want to try it out , you definitely can make it work for you. LA girl cosmetics is quickly becoming one of my favorites , from the concealer to this foundation. I can't wait to try more stuff from them. You can buy this foundation here.
Which do you prefer , dewy finish or matte finish ? Please leave me comments , I love to read them. Have a wonderful day.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:13
